Shortcuts
Use the Shortcuts widget to add fast links to dashboards, forms, documents, or external links inside a dashboard.
Use Shortcuts when the dashboard should also work as a launch point for the rest of the workflow.
This widget is helpful when people often need to jump from monitoring into action.
Navigation
Open a dashboard, enter edit mode if needed, then choose Add widget.
Use Shortcuts when one dashboard should connect people to the next place they need to go.
When to use it
The Shortcuts widget appears as a list or group of links on the dashboard.
Each shortcut can point to a different destination, depending on the shortcut type you choose.
Add the widget
- Open a dashboard.
- Click Add widget.
- Choose Shortcuts.
Configure the shortcuts
In the setup flow, add one or more shortcut items.
Depending on the shortcut type, you can link to:
- another dashboard
- a form
- a document
- a direct web link
You can also:
- give each shortcut a title
- add a short description
- choose whether the target opens in the same tab or a new tab
- reorder the shortcut list
When to use Shortcuts
Use Shortcuts when:
- the dashboard is part of a larger workflow
- people often need to move from monitoring into action
- one dashboard should connect users to forms, reference material, or related dashboards
Tips
- Keep the list focused.
- Write labels that make the destination obvious.
- Use this widget near the top of dashboards that act like team home pages.
