
Zira runs in your browser, but you can also install it as an app on your phone, tablet, or computer. Installing gives you a faster, full-screen experience and makes features like push notifications work more reliably.

Zira comes in a few variants, each on its own address. Install whichever one matches how you use Zira:

- **my.zira.us** — the main Zira app for everyday work on mobile and desktop.
- **op.zira.us** — the [Operations App](/docs/operations-app/overview) for operators, usually installed on a tablet in kiosk mode.
- **tv.zira.us** — the [TV App](/docs/tv-app/overview) for large screens above work centers.

The install steps are the same for each address — just open the address you want before installing.

## Install with the built-in prompt

When you open Zira in a supported browser, it may show an **Install Zira App?** prompt.

1. Open your Zira address (for example, `my.zira.us`).
2. When the **Install Zira App?** prompt appears, click **Install App**.
3. Follow your browser's confirmation to add Zira.

If you dismissed the prompt with **No Thanks**, you can still install Zira manually using the steps below.

## Install on Android (Chrome)

1. Open your Zira address in Chrome.
2. Tap the **⋮** menu in the top right.
3. Tap **Install app** or **Add to Home screen**.
4. Confirm to add Zira to your home screen.

## Install on iPhone or iPad (Safari)

1. Open your Zira address in Safari.
2. Tap the **Share** button.
3. Tap **Add to Home Screen**.
4. Tap **Add** to confirm.

On iPad, this is the usual way to set up **op.zira.us** for operators.

## Install on desktop (Chrome or Edge)

1. Open your Zira address in Chrome or Edge.
2. Look for the **Install** icon in the address bar, or open the browser menu.
3. Click **Install Zira**.
4. Confirm to add Zira as a desktop app.

Once installed, Zira opens in its own window and can be pinned to your taskbar or dock.

## After installing

- Zira opens full screen, without the browser address bar.
- Sign in the same way you do in the browser.
- Allow notifications when asked so push notifications work. See [Follow a Channel & Get Notified](/docs/channels/follow-a-channel).

Each address keeps its own session, so signing in to `my.zira.us`, `op.zira.us`, and `tv.zira.us` does not affect the others.

## Tips

- Install the address that matches the device: `my.zira.us` for personal phones and computers, `op.zira.us` for operator tablets, `tv.zira.us` for shared screens.
- If you do not see an install option, make sure you are using a supported browser and are on the Zira address, not a shared link.
- Reinstalling is safe — your data lives in your account, not on the device.

Install the Zira App


Use the create flow when you want to add a new data source to a channel or system.

The create dialog highlights the main creation paths first, with AI-focused template options at the top and site-specific collector options available as a secondary section.

## See the flow first

Start from the **Data Sources** tab and use the **Add Data Source** button in the top-right area.

Start by opening the create dialog and choosing the type that matches your workflow.

If you choose **Custom**, the shared editor opens so you can define the title, description, fields, and preview.

If you use **AI Assist**, Zira can draft the first version of the data source structure for you.

## Open the create flow

1. Open a channel.
2. Click the **Data Sources** tab.
3. Click **Add Data Source**.

## Choose the right type

The create dialog focuses on these main paths:

- **AI-Vision**
- **AI Pallet QA and Routing**
- **Custom**
- **PLC Connector**
- **Aggregator**

Use the AI options when you want to start from a template-driven inspection workflow. Use the other types when you need a more manual or infrastructure-focused setup.

## Create an AI data source

1. Select **AI-Vision** or **AI Pallet QA and Routing**.
2. Review the available templates in the same dialog.
3. Select the template that matches the workflow you want.
4. Enter a name.
5. Click **Create data source**.

After creation, the new data source is attached and opened in the normal data-source workspace.

## Pair a Zira AI-Vision device

After the AI-Vision data source is created, you can pair it with a Zira AI-Vision device.

1. Open the data source row actions menu.
2. Choose **QR Pairing**.

3. A QR code opens on the screen.
4. On the Zira AI-Vision device home screen, tap **Pair** to open the QR scanner.
5. Scan the QR code shown in Zira to complete the pairing.

If you prefer not to scan the QR code, use the **OTC** option on the device and choose **Code Pairing** in Zira so you can type the code instead.

## Create a custom data source

Choose **Custom** when you want to build the data source structure yourself.

This path opens the shared data-source editor, where you can:

- define the title and description
- add fields
- configure **More settings**
- preview the structure before saving
- use **AI Assist** to draft the structure for you

## Create a PLC Connector

Choose **PLC Connector** when you need a connector-style data source for PLC-related integration work.

This path uses the same data-source editor, with PLC-specific setup fields such as the device IP address.

## Create an Aggregator

Choose **Aggregator** when you want one data source to combine or summarize readings from other sources.

After creation, continue into the aggregation configuration step.

## Use site-specific collectors

If your site supports collector-based setups, open the site-specific collectors section in the guided dialog.

Use this section when you want to create a collector-driven data source for a site that has its own supported integrations.

Start a new data source from the create dialog, choose the right type, and continue into the editor or template flow that matches your setup.

Create a Data Source


Use layout editing to control how the dashboard reads on screen.

This is where you decide how large widgets should be, which ones deserve priority, and how the dashboard should flow from top to bottom.

## Open layout editing

1. Open the dashboard.
2. Click **Dashboard options** next to the time range in the toolbar.
3. Click **Change Layout**.

The same menu is also where you can add widgets, change data sources, update dashboard settings, and open full screen.

## Change the working screen size

While you are editing the layout, you can switch the working size to match a device type such as mobile, tablet, or desktop.

Use this to preview how the layout behaves before you leave edit mode.

## Add a widget

1. Click **Dashboard options** next to the time range.
2. Click **Add widget**.
3. Choose the widget type you want.
4. Complete the widget setup form.
5. Save the widget.

After saving, the widget is added to the layout and can be moved or resized.

Start with the widget type that best matches the question you want the dashboard to answer. For example:

- use **KPI** for a single headline number
- use **Column** or **Bar** for comparison
- use **Time series** for change over time
- use **AI Insights** when people need written explanation
- use **Header**, **Shortcuts**, or **Filters** for structure and navigation

## Reorder the page

As you arrange the dashboard:

- keep the most important widgets near the top
- group related widgets together
- avoid making every widget the same size
- leave enough space for larger tables and chart widgets

## Edit an existing widget

1. Open the widget menu.
2. Click **Edit**.
3. Update the widget settings.
4. Save the widget.

## Duplicate or remove a widget

Use the widget menu when you want to:

- duplicate a widget and adjust a variation
- remove a widget that is no longer needed

Duplicating is helpful when you want two similar widgets with different metrics, filters, or date behavior.

## Check the result after saving

Once a widget is saved, it appears directly on the dashboard.

This is a good moment to decide whether the widget needs:

- a different size
- a different place on the page
- a clearer title
- or a second related widget beside it

## Use full screen and auto-update

The toolbar also supports:

- **Full screen** from **Dashboard options** > **Actions**
- **Auto update** from **Dashboard options** > **Data Preferences**

Use **Full screen** for presentation and focused monitoring. Use **Auto update** when a dashboard should refresh on a schedule.
