Layout and Preview
Learn how to work in the data-source editor, move between the editing area and preview, and save or discard changes.
Use the editor layout to manage the structure on the left and verify the final result on the right.
Work in the main editing area
When the editor opens, start in the left panel.
Use this area to:
- enter the data-source title
- write a description
- add fields
- open More settings
- reorder the structure
Review the preview
Use the preview area on the right to see how the data source will appear when users open it.
The preview starts updating as soon as you add a title, description, or field. If the editor is still empty, the preview shows a short message until there is something to display.
The preview helps you check:
- the order of sections and fields
- labels and helper text
- whether the form feels clear before you save
On smaller screens:
- Click Show Preview.
- Review the layout.
- Click Close Preview to return to editing.
Save or discard changes
Use Save when the data source is ready.
If you make changes and decide not to keep them, click Discard changes to restore the last saved version. If you close the editor with unsaved changes, Zira asks you to confirm before leaving.
What happens during editing
AI drafts and manual edits stay in the editor until you save. Review the preview, adjust the fields, and save when the structure is ready.
