
Use **Work mode** to choose how Zira opens every time you sign in. It is your personal starting point, so you land straight in the way you like to work.

You can pick from three focused modes:

- **AI Assistant** — start in an assistant that can chat, navigate, and build from one place.
- **Dashboard** — open straight into the numbers you watch.
- **Feed** — stay on top of activity and updates.

You can set your Work mode in two simple ways:

- from **Preferences** when you want to browse and choose
- from a dashboard menu when you are already on the dashboard you want to use

## Set your Work mode from Preferences

1. Click your profile picture.
2. Click **Preferences**.
3. Find **Work mode** and click **Choose work mode**.

4. In the **Work mode** dialog, choose the mode you want:
   - Select **AI Assistant** or **Feed** to use it directly.
   - Select **Dashboard**, then search and pick the dashboard you want to open.

The card you are using shows a **Current** badge, and the one you are picking shows a check, so your choice is easy to see.

5. Click **Save** to keep the change.

After that, Zira opens your chosen mode first when you sign in.

## Set the current dashboard as your Work mode from the dashboard menu

Use this path when you are already looking at the dashboard you want.

1. Open the dashboard you want to start from.
2. Open the dashboard menu from the top-right actions area.
3. Under **Actions**, click **Set as work mode**.

You should see a confirmation that the dashboard is now your work mode.

This is the fastest option when you already know which dashboard you want to start from each day.

## How it works

Your Work mode is your personal starting page after sign in.

That means:

- it affects your own account
- it helps you open Zira directly into the way you work most
- you can change it again anytime

If you like to work from a conversation, choose **AI Assistant**. If you prefer a dashboard for daily work, set that dashboard. If your work changes later, you can choose a different mode.

Choosing **Feed** or **Dashboard** does not lock you out of the assistant. Open it any time from the **AI Assistant** icon — the sparkles — in the left menu, just above **Chats**.

## When to update your Work mode

Update your Work mode when:

- your role changes
- your team starts using a new dashboard or channel
- you want a faster starting point for daily work
- you want to start your day in the AI Assistant instead of a fixed page

Set how Zira opens when you sign in — the AI Assistant, a dashboard, or your feed.

Choose Your Work Mode


Use **AI Form and Data Source Builder** when you want to go from “I know what I need to track” to a working structure in one step.

Instead of building everything field by field, you can describe the workflow, the values people should enter, and any validation or calculations you need. AI builds the structure directly into the editor.

The same builder is used in two places:

- **AI Form Builder** for custom forms
- **AI Data Source Builder** for custom data sources

## Open the builder

You can open the builder in more than one flow:

1. Open a channel.
2. Do one of the following:
   - Click the **Forms** tab, click **+**, choose **Blank Form**, then click **AI Assist** in the form editor
   - Click the **Data Sources** tab, click **Add Data Source**, choose **Custom**, then click **AI Assist**
3. You can also click **AI Assist** while editing an existing form or custom data source.

## What it can build for you

The builder can create:

- a title and description
- the main field structure
- clearer labels and sections
- dropdown options
- required fields
- validation rules
- calculated fields and expressions

This works best when you describe the real workflow instead of just listing a few field names.

## Ask for a form with confidence

Good requests often explain:

- what the form or data source is used for
- who will fill it out
- which values must be captured
- which values should be calculated
- what should be required or validated

For example, you can ask for:

- an inspection checklist
- a work-order intake form
- a downtime tracking form
- a quality record with pass or fail logic
- a production entry form with totals and calculated fields

## Review the structure

Before you apply the result, review:

- the suggested title
- the description
- each field
- metric matching
- options for list fields
- validation details
- any expression that was suggested

The preview is there to help you confirm the structure before it is added to the editor.

## Understand metric matching

When a suggested field matches an existing metric, Zira can preselect it for you.

If the right metric does not already exist:

- the field can still be added
- the metric stays empty
- you can finish the setup manually in the editor

That makes setup much faster without forcing the wrong metric onto the form.

## Apply the structure and keep improving it

Before applying, choose whether to:

- replace the current fields
- or append the new fields to what you already have

After the structure is applied:

- review the metric for each field
- refine field names and labels
- adjust any options or validation
- test calculated fields carefully before saving

You can also use the same builder again while editing, so AI can help you:

- add missing fields
- simplify the structure
- revise labels and validation
- extend an existing form instead of starting over

AI Form and Data Source Builder


Use the **Tasks** tab when you want to review and manage work that belongs to the current channel.

This tab helps you stay in the channel while checking open work, creating new tasks, and opening task details.

## Navigation

Open a channel first, then click the **Tasks** tab.

If you already know which channel the work belongs to, this is usually the best place to start.

## Choose a task view

The Tasks tab can show the same work in different ways:

- **List** gives you a simple table of tasks.
- **Board** groups tasks by status so you can review progress more visually.
- **Statistics** shows counts and summaries instead of individual task rows.

On smaller screens, you may stay in the list more often.

## Open the Tasks tab

1. Open a channel.
2. Click **Tasks**.
3. Review the task list for that channel.

## Choose the best view

Use **List** when you want to:

- scan many tasks quickly
- search or filter
- open one task at a time

Use **Board** when you want to:

- review tasks by status
- get a quick sense of progress
- focus on what is waiting, active, or finished

Use **Statistics** when you want to:

- see totals and summaries
- check patterns instead of individual task details

## Work with tasks

From this tab, you can:

- open a task to review or update it
- create a new task
- search for a task
- use filters to narrow the list

If you only care about tasks for the current channel, staying in this tab is often easier than using a broader task page.

## Tips

- Start in **List** if you are not sure which view you need.
- Switch to **Board** when you want a more visual status view.
- Use **Statistics** for a quick summary before you open individual tasks.
